My name is Nele and I’m an 19 year old girl from Germany. I’m currently living in the UK, in Portsmouth in England to be exact. I’m visiting the university of Portsmouth, where I’m studying International Relations and Mandarin. I’m living in a student house with three British guys, and while it is pure chaos at times I’m enjoying it immensly ♥
So far, I’m fluent in German and English, but I hope to become as good as I can in Mandarin as well. As part of my degree I’ll be spending a whole year in China - I couldn’t be more excited! At the moment, I’m also taking French as an evening class. I’ve studied it before, but forgot a lot over the years, so I’m trying to catch up again. Learning as many languages as I can is one of my main goals in life because I always feel embarrassed when I can’t communicate with someone simply because I don’t speak their language.
As for my other hobbies, I enjoy reading Harry Potter and Sherlock fanfiction and I’m always open for recommendations. For a few months, I’ve been writing myself as well, and writing’s become on of my biggest hobbies. Other than that, I’m also into art and music - I can play the flute and the saxophone.
I’m a huge fan of the HSV, the football club from Hamburg. It’s kinda expected in my family and I regret nothing xD
